First Lifestyle Shoot

I went for a complimentary lifestyle shoot @ Snapz Image yesterday, thanks to whoever bought the package from the studio and referred me as one of the potential 'carrot to be chopped'.. It wasn't an immediate "Yes, I'll go" answer when the tele-marketer called.. Usually, I would not entertain such calls but this time round, the office sounded very sincere and he had also called a couple of times before I relented.. probably that someone had highlighted to them that I'm a goldmine waiting to be dug which would explain for the persistent callings..

This shoot consists of 50 shots in 2 outfits plus full makeup, of which I can take back 2 unedited photos FOC..

First look, the consultant, Nisha, wanted to give me a sexy bedroom look.. My first thought was like, how the hell would I be able to give people a CFM impression that she wanted me to dress as such... I guessed my puzzled expressions gave myself away as she continued that it would be like a dress down casual sleep look lah... hengz.... and so, off I was shoo-ed into the changing room with a man's shirt...

Full make up on, temp curls (for a sexy kitten look, she said.. a fat one, i supposed!) and moved to the shooting area... took abt 25 shots.. different poses with 3 different scenes... white carpet... see thru curtain... and with Pooh which was my favourite choice of all...

Second look, Nisha recommended either a Korean or an ancient Chinese outfit, which I opted for the latter instead... Actually, whichever traditional outfit it was, I disliked it... I just don't have that classic appeal which was the reason why I didn't choose any for my 2 free pics..

The whole photo taking process was fun but difficult part came when they tried to psycho me into buying their products.. One really has to be very persistent in saying No, which I'm glad I took my stand.. Haha... The referer must had forgotten to tell them that if it's something I'm not interested, I will not fork out a single cent...

So off I went with 2 of my free pics, to meet my bro and Dennis @ DF...

Retrenchment vs Redundancy

Reality had finally struck.. Although this is something which is not within our control, this economic downturn is definitely the best time and excuse for companies to award the "golden handshake"... The morale was somehow low among a few of us and I felt its presence over lunch today...

Mdm Tan was right.... The ugly, devilish RETRENCHMENT has arrived.... 2 of my colleagues from the supply chain were let go this morning...

Seems like these 2 already knew about it beforehand as they were quite calm when they came to bid goodbye, I was the one feeling emotional and upset though....

The EVP (aka CEO's BFF) who terminated them called for a meeting later in the afternoon... He had flown in from HQ specially for this and also to settle some of their business unit matters.... For someone who never bother to acknowledge our presence when we greeted him, or take a single look at us with his eyes but thru his nostrils instead.... He actually called for a meeting... What a joke... The call came in during lunch and we were still hesitating if we should attend for the msg conveyed to us was, "there's a general meeting later at 1.30, join in if you want to". Since that's his words, then why would we bother to go when he already sounded as if it doesn't matter that we did not attend..

K: "go and listen to what he wants to say...."

J, M and I were still guessing, did he felt bad about letting 2 staff go and wanted to hear from us on our thoughts about this exercise... "Ok, so most of you might have known by now might that some changes is going on within the company... I had just removed 2 redundancies this morning..." Whatever he continued, shooting his bloody CB mouth off... I did not pay attention but wished he will just fall off his chair and drop dead immediately...

2 REDUNDACIES removed??!!! So that were his best description for the 2 guys who were let go so that he can save his own fucking arsehole??!! So that he will have more budget on hand to play around with the logistics model??!! These 2 fellas did not come to office everyday doing nothing for as long as they were employed nor did the company pay them to just sit there and talk big like what this bloody CB likes to do...

If they were considered redundants and therefore should be removed, then CB should be one bloody mother fucking THRASH which needs to be incinerated and removed from this planet...

AND I SINCERELY HOPE THAT THIS WILL COME TRUE.. *angry*

Mr Rooster Power

Just came back from a mj session and wanted to share my joy with you guys... kekeke... it has been a couple of months since I last played... At first, I had hesitations when Angela called to jio as I'm not a MJ person and I'm afraid the stakes will be high.... so when she said 20cts 40cts, I agreed immediately.. kekke..

And off we went to her friend, Larry's place in Yishun.... minus the details but lady luck was with me today... and the weirdest thing was when I called for Mr Rooster.... the tile appeared... when I asked Colin if he has the upperhand again, he will win the next round...

this happened for quite some time... so much so that Angela was beginning to suspect if I rear little ghost to aid me.. Ms Ang ah, no I did not hor.... I don't do illegal stuff de... kekeke... Dun envy me... you had your fair share of winning the last round to reduce your loss lor...

I may not have the luck the next time so please don't jio me again... hahahhaha.....

清明节

And it's the time of the year again... Qing Ming Festival - A day where the decendants do their part of remembering past ancestors... In countries like China and Hong Kong, QMF is an official public holiday but unfortunately, there's no such practise here..

So last Sun (which I think was the actual date on the lunar calendar), we set off at 7am...driving past rows of houses before we reached Foong Yun Thai Association Columbarium, the final resting place for my grandparents and 2nd aunt.. Per my understanding from dad, this place is only opened to people who are members of the Hakka clan... A quiet and peaceful surrounding located at Old Holland Road, off Bukit Timah Road..
As much as I doubt that my ancestors will receive whatever we are burning to them, I'm still reserving much respect for the 2 elders whom I've never seen before.. Ye-ye and Nei-nei (Hakka dialect for my paternal grandparents)... Both died in 1959 and 1978 respectively..
"Just burn lah.. don't ask so much..", mum said.
zzzzzz... =_=
Burn lor.... we'll be back doing the same thing next year...

What if.......

It has been a while since the recession... Retrenchment everywhere, cost cutting everywhere... every now and then, I hear people getting the golden handshake.. report for work in the morning and gone by mid-day... It's a harsh reality....

So the question is.. WHAT IF there is no recession?
Would the company still axe their staff?
Would the people still lose their homes?
Would there be lesser lives lost?
Would we still tighten our belts and control our spendings?
Would there be lesser marriages/families breakups?

This is no laughing matter, as each and everyone is exposed to the probability of hitting the jackpot... When that time comes, we will have to go...

We never know what lies ahead, don't assume it's going to be a bed of roses always.. but don't be too pessimistic as well...

70299 @ 1740

I'm sure everyone at some stages of their lives has someone who catches their attention... and this special someone is not the one whom they will get to know unless the person is daring enough to go befriend him/her...

Okayz, I'm one of those peepz.... No, not that I was admired (probably there is, and I don't know) but I'm the one admiring... and I named this lucky candidate, my Eye-Candy aka EC.

He isn't someone handsome... A teeny bit of Chen Hao.. tall.. clean-cut.. more than enough for me to notice him from the bus stop which I usually took the bus to go home....

It was like 3 wks back... he was with his colleague, then he smiled (not to me lah) and I got bedazzled by his generous smile... ahhahahaha.... that's how it started lor..

Usually, I would hitch a ride home from my colleague but that particular week was exceptional as he was out of office for on-site work... so must be fate to let me meet this EC.. i know i sounded crazy but there's more to come leh..

next evening, I saw him again... following evening, again.. and I noticed that he usually takes bus 28.. kekek.. pervertic, ain't I?? ahahha... so probably he lives in the East too... i told myself, maybe nex time when I have excess time on hand, I will try to take the same bus as him and see where he gets off... lolx!

Today I had the chance to take the bus again as I'm goin to meet Jing in Tampines but sad to say, I didn't see EC at the bus stop... And since Jing was still in office when she called, I decided to get off at the next stop and take bus 28 which was behind the bus I'm in and took a longer route to Tamp instead.. Cuddled comfortably in a corner seat @ the back of the bus, I started on my journey taking in the sights which I've never seen for so long.... As the bus slowly crept into the stop opp Tamp Safra, I noticed a familiar backview with a red crumpler bag getting off... As the bus drove past him, I took a quick glance and confirmed it's him! Something to brighten up my tiring day... And it's something to 80% confirmation that he stays in Tampines too.. hehehehe....

For those who are still trying to figure out what the numbers meant... it's actually Bus Stop 70299 @ 1740hrs.. The location and time where I will always see EC...
