Soul Food Seoul Good

Hello!! I'm back in action again.. been missing for nearly 2mths with no updates.. Sorry about that.. :)

For a start, I shall share my recipes on 2 of my favourite dishes - Kimchi Soup and Spicy Rice Cake.. Both are relatively easy to prepare and the KCS completes a meal with a bowl of steaming hot rice.. All you need is patience and skills... muahhahaha..

Kim Chi Soup (kim chi chigae)



You need:
- Kimchi
- Pork Belly (Sliced)
- Lean Pork (Sliced)
- Soybean Sprouts
- Pressed Tofu
- Spring Onions
- Glass Noodle
- Korean Chilli Paste
- Salt/Chicken Essence Powder
- Water

Steps:-
(1) Pan-fry the pork belly over medium fire till brown and its fats start to breakdown
(2) Add water and boil for about 10-15mins before adding the kimchi
(3) Add chilli paste and lean pork; and leave to boil for another 10 min
(4) Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 mins. Serve hot.


Spicy Rice Cake (dokk pok ggi)




You need:
- Rice Cake
- Korean Chilli Paste
- Cabbage
- Onions
- Luncheon Meat
- Spring Onions

Steps:-
(1) Boil water and add chilli paste
(2) Add in cabbage and onions, and boil for about 5-10mins till the cabbage is soft
(3) Add in rice cake and luncheon meat to simmer for 10mins till the gravy is thickened. Serve hot.
