16th Jan 2009... A Decade of Love...

It's 16th Jan 2009, 0045hrs... I should be sleeping by now considering that I will have to wake up at 5.45am... But I just want to write a short post first to share before heading to dreamland...

BECAUSE today is the day which many of us, me especially, has been waiting for.... :) I am very very excited about it....

It is the legal union of Jarrod & Ruyuan.... The day when RY will be Mrs Wong aka Mdm Chen officially.... No more Miss....

As I thought of the gatecrashing ideas that we gonna pull later, I start to imagine the expressions of the bestman and groomsmen... Waahahhaha... Hallucination......

Jarrod will be spared in the morning but things will be different at night... when the senior guests have gone home.... when the place belongs to us, close friends, solely.... hiak hiak hiak... *evil laugh*

I hope RY will like what we had prepared for her too... kekekeke...

New year not happy afterall...

Year 2008 had been a very eventful one, politically and financially worldwide... Nearer to home and closer to myself it's nothing better either... Bobby's sudden departure was the most difficult to deal with... And my wish for the New Year 2009 was that everything will be a fresh new start...

This new year countdown, I was at home instead watching the Taiwan countdown party on cable.. Though it's nothing spectacular except for the mega stars performance, it's still better than our own homegrown countdown programmes at least...

Finally the clock struck 12midnight.. 010109... And I thought.. "Yay!! A final closure to a bad 08 and a new chapter for 09... Happy New Year everyone!"

At early morning, I was watching the news on CNA when it reported that a fire had broken out in Bangkok's Santika club killing 56 patrons and injuring 100+ others who were there to usher in the new year... My first thought... Damn... Why does such a thing have to happen on the 1st hour of a new year?? May God bless all the victims though...

So happily I met up with Angie to accompany her for CNY shopping in Tampines later in the afternoon when I received a call from Geannie... No, she didn't call to wish me HNY but to ask if I heard of the fatal fire in BKK... Bad feeling overcame me... She will never call me to ask abt such news unless someone I know is involved...

And I'm right... not 1 but 4 were part of the unlucky ones... Both Donald and Adeline were badly burnt and recovering now... His 2 other colleagues weren't that fortunate... This really hit upon me as a shock, a very big one... though I only know Don and Ade personally, my heart went out for all 4 of them, their families and friends... It aches each time I come across news update on this freak accident... Though life will still have to go on, it will never be the same again for everyone affected.... and for now, I hope that this couple will be strong and recover soon...
